Jake O'Neil enters Gateway Dirt Nationals in St.Louis
Jake entered the 8th annual Gateway Dirt Nationals inside the Dome at America's Center over the weekend with his #0 Red Eye Radiator Modified.
Thursday night in preliminary action, we had a rough and tumble qualifying effort, getting into the fence, but were able to qualify 15th. We then started 4th and finished 3rd in our qualifying heat race before rolling off 10th in the night's preliminary feature. In the feature, we ran inside the top ten early before unfortunately not finishing the event.
Friday was our day off, which we spent getting the car back and ready to go for Saturday night.
Saturday, we raced from 8th to 6th in our qualifier, which transferred us into the Win and In Last Chance Race. We started 9th in that one and charged up to 2nd and had a shot at the transfer spot until we suffered a mechanical issue under caution, causing us to retire from the event, ending our weekend.
Overall, it was a great event to be a part of, just needed a little better luck on our side.
