Jake O'Neil eighth in Modified World Championship; Nick O'Neil grabs checkered flag at Tucson
Both Nick and Jake were in action this weekend with Nick competing at the Tucson Speedway in Tucson, AZ. After qualifying 4th, he won his heat from fourth and then rolled off the front row and went on to win the night's feature race as well.
Jake made the trek to the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin for the $100,025 to win World Modified Championships this past weekend. Thursday night, he qualified 7th before racing to a fourth-place finish in his heat race and then capped the night with a 16th to 13th run in the feature. Friday, he qualified 7th, then raced from 3rd to 2nd in his heat race, before starting and finishing 8th in the night's feature race.
Saturday, Jake was able to race from 8th to 4th in the night's b-main and then after earning the 24th starting spot, he rallied through the field into the top ten, crossing the finish line with an 8th place finish on the night.
